Thought to be the oldest surviving culture on earth, the Aborigines depend on plants, seeds and small reptiles and mammals, all gathered by women, for some 80 - 90 percent of their caloric intake. Men spend much time hunting to secure the remaining 10 - 20 percent in the form of larger animals...Apparently they believe that meat is of sufficient importance that it's procurement is worth a highly disproportionate amount of effort.
