Commercially produced animals are often less healthy and fatter than those produced under organic standards.

Pasture reared livestock have higher levels of vitamins A, D and K2. They also contain higher amounts of the vital nutrient CLA.

Be aware of getting lured into purchasing organic fish. The only way that organic standards of fish production can be met is by intensively rearing the fish in fish farms, these fish will be better than commercial fish farms, but do not exceed the quality of fish produced naturally in the oceans and rivers of the world.

Avoid

Minimum standard processed burgers, sausages, tinned meat, barn reared chicken, grain fed commercial beef or lamb and barn reared pork; standard farmed fish and tinned fish in vegetable oils.

Organic, free range supermarket brand chicken, beef, lamb or pork and game meats; Organic farmed fish or tinned fish in water.

Best

Locally sourced organic grass fed beef and lamb, local organic free range pork and chicken - including organ meats e.g. liver, kidney and heart; Fresh caught, wild, ocean-going or freshwater fish or shellfish.
